Mr. Volk has gained a broad range of experience in litigation, including commercial disputes, administrative law, and class actions.

While at UBC, Mr. Volk has received several academic awards including the Panvini Scholarship in Law, the Katherine Genevieve MacDougall Memorial Prize, and a Law Foundation Award. During his second year at UBC, Mr. Volk competed in the annual Laskin Moot in 2009, came in first place at the Fraser Milner Casgrain Negotiation Competition and later competed at the American Bar Association Northwestern Regional Negotiation Competition in 2008.
