A settlement was reached in class proceedings which sought to recover fees allegedly charged by PRL and Mogo in contravention of the Criminal Code. The claims period in that settlement has expired.

When will I receive my money?

The refund cheques for fees paid prior to October 2003 will be mailed out on August 22, 2011.  The refund cheques and vouchers for the fees paid after October 2003 will be mailed out by August 26, 2011.  Please wait at least 2 weeks after the above dates for Canada Post to deliver your refund.  Our staff cannot provide any additional details as to the amount of the payments or the date the refunds will be mailed.  The refund cheques are not being mailed from our office.

I have moved.  How do I update my address?

It is no longer possible to change your address as the refund database has been sent to a third party company for processing.  You will need to contact Canada Post in order to have your mail forwarded.

How will I receive my refund?

Your refund for loans obtained after October 2003 will be paid 1/3 by cheque and 2/3 by vouchers redeemable for cash in three years.  Your refund for loans prior to October 2003 will be paid by cheque.

I just found out about the settlement. Can I still make a claim?

No, only claims that were submitted on or before April 9, 2011 can be accepted.
