Class proceedings were filed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia against Canadian Cheque Advance and its successor Money Flow, which alleged that those companies charged payday loan fees in contravention of the Criminal Code.  This action sought the recovery of money those companies had collected in excess of the maximum rate permitted under the Criminal Code on behalf of all persons resident in British Columbia whom borrowed a payday loan from Canadian Cheque Advance and Money Flow.

These actions are no longer being actively advanced as Canadian Cheque Advance and Money Flow have ceased operations.
