Paul R. Bennett is a senior partner at Hordo & Bennett with over 20 years of commercial litigation experience. His practice has included appearances before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the B.C. Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also acted as counsel in complex commercial arbitrations.
Mr. Bennett has been recognized by Lexpert Magazine and the National Post’s The Best Lawyers in Canada as one of Canada’s leading class action litigation lawyers. He has acted as senior counsel in a number of precedent setting cases, including one of the first class actions to be successfully determined on its merits in British Columbia.
In addition to class and representative proceedings, Mr. Bennett has also acted in a wide variety of other commercial litigation matters, including partnership disputes, pension litigation, professional negligence, and administrative law.
Mr. Bennett’s academic achievements include a M.Phil. in criminology at the University of Cambridge, a LL.B. at the University of Toronto, and an LL.M. at Harvard University. Between 1983 and 1986, he pursued doctorial studies in law at the University of Cambridge.
Mr. Bennett has presented papers at continuing legal education seminars on Industry Class Actions and Document Management in Commercial Cases.
Mr. Bennett is a member of both the Canadian and Vancouver Bar Associations.
